Booking: Monday-Friday Only The aorta ultrasound is used to evaluate the abdominal aorta. Reasons for this exam can be as simple as a screening for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), A one-time abdominal aortic ultrasound screening is recommended for men between the ages of 65-75 who have a history of smoking. Anyone with a family history of AAA may receive this screening ultrasound. Prep for Exam: NPO- 6 hrs prior to exam: No smoking or gum chewing 30min prior. May drink small amount of water with meds.
